God Our Provider

Oh the majesty of our great God and Father. His provisions abound to us in such wondrous ways. When I first began my relationship with Jesus Christ, I remember His impressing Matthew 6 upon my heart because one of my greatest sins was worry. He continues to bless me in these verses. Our God provides for us in all our needs. His Word tells us that He cares so much for the flowers of the fields that He arrays them with incredible color that cannot compare to Solomon’s riches. And He provides for the birds that they do not have to be concerned about their food even in these harsh winters of Northern New York. As I was spending time with the LORD today in my Bible studies, He reminded me of this through one of His majestic Red Tailed Hawks. My eyes caught a movement outside as the birds began to sound their warning calls that a predator was in the area. I looked to see his slow graceful swooping down, wings spread wide, descending towards the open field in slow purposeful movements. He was successful in catching a rodent. Once he had completed his mission, he flew up on our shed and perched, watching for more food. How beautiful God created this mighty bird with his coloring and markings. His head kept turning to and fro looking for another catch; his dark, glassy eyes able to see any small movement in the field. Watching this magnificent bird caused me to remember how much God does for us, how He provides all that we need, how He protects us. God’s birds do not appear to be in want as they busily search for and find their food. They are happily singing as they fly from tree to bush to ground. I pray that as you search for God in your day that you will find Him in His Word, that you would find fulfillment in Him, that your heart will sing God’s praises as He pours His blessings into your life. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, Kathleen

Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.” Matthew 6:25-26, 28-29
