God’s Beauty and Blessings

IMG_5150Each morning as I awake, I gather my Bible and devotionals, a warm cup of coffee and sit down on my couch facing the windows that overlook my backyard. The last few days we have been blessed with snow. This morning it is no longer snowing but the beauty of the snow remains. It is so peaceful looking at the beauty the snow brings to all of God’s creation. How glorious is our God in His creation of snow! His incredible beauty that covers the bare trees that took on a gloomy dormant appearance after their beautiful fall leaves were gone. It softly lies upon the trees, covering the branches, gathering in great mounds of fluffy white. As the sun comes up it gives a sparkle to the snow that is graceful, the sun gives a beautiful shadow effect upon the snow causing a glorious brightness. The birds dart in and out of the trees looking for places of solitude and for any morsel of food. We have a hawk that flies majestically along the tree line and then lands upon a tree branch displaying all the beauty that His creator put into his being. The fence line gives added beauty to my view with the snow pilled on the beams and posts. The beauty of the blue sky with God’s light, strokes of white clouds and a flight of birds reminds me of God’s wonderful provisions even in the cold. As the sun shines upon and through the snow covered trees, causing the white to become brighter, the blue sky causes the snow to sparkle and take on a magnificent appearance. The tall pines with the weight of the snow on their green branches seem to be bowing to the beauty of the sun and blue sky. The view causes a peace and comfort as I take in this beautiful view that God has given to me as I reflect on Him and all He has done and does. I love the hand of God, the beauty of His creation, His attention to detail, His marvelous imagination – all are meant to please us, to bring joy into our lives. In the cold harsh days of the snow coming down, the below zero temperatures, the blowing wind and white outs, this is what lies behind and are the reflections of what God does in each of our lives. Though storms may come, though God allows our lives to be stirred up and we are not able to see with our eyes what is in front of us, we are to simply trust in Him and know He has all things in control. And in the end of the storm we will see the beauty that follows.  Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, Kathleen

“White as snow, white as snow, though my sins were as scarlet, Lord I know, Lord I know that my sins were forgiven, by the power of Your blood, through the wonder of Your love, through faith in You I know that I can be, white as snow.” song by Jon Foreman

Come now, and let us reason together,” says the LORD, ‘Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”  Isaiah 1:18
